The WTG are having their 2nd Annual Playwright’s Showcase and we are looking for performers! We are looking for actors to fill roles for 4 different pieces, each running between 15-25 minutes. The performances will be March 6 & 7 at 7:30pm at the Burton Leavitt Theatre in Willimantic, CT.

Auditions are Monday, January 27 and Wednesday, January 29 from 7-9pm in the Auditorium of the First Congregational Church located at 199 Valley Street in Willimantic. Parking is available at the church and across the street next to Willard’s!

No experience necessary, all are welcomed to attend! Auditions will consist of cold readings from each piece. Below is more info on each piece. We hope to see you there!

Note: Some shows are only looking to fill certain roles. Ages indicated are those of the character, not necessarily of the actor.

The Waiting Room by Scotty Duval. Drama. A group of recently deceased souls meet in between life and the afterlife, unable to let go of life due to regrets and unfulfilled dreams. 2 Females, 1 male, and 2 any. Age 20’s-30’s, with some flexibility.

Playing by the Rules by Peter DeNegre. Drama. A college athlete has the opportunity to go pro, but some of his past relationships and a cheating scandal may jeopardize his future career. 2 males, 2 females, all around college-aged.

Jorts by Julianna Cargo. Comedy. 5 teens are stuck working a summer job, and suddenly find themselves in the midst of a fashion nightmare. If you think your retail job is bad, just you wait! This show is only auditioning for the role of Bennet. Bennet (18)- Snarky, clever, corner-cutting, and the most thoughtlessly outspoken of the kids. Avoids taking things seriously unless it comes as a consequence to him. Not the most desirable personality, but has some redeeming qualities. Like his ability to lighten things up a little, despite the situation at hand.

Curse You, Matt Damon  by Jill Zarcone. An absurd comedy. 2 females- elderly, but can be played by actresses age 30 and up.
