"Set in Ohio in the 1980's, satirical comedian Lewis Black’s production opens the door to the Coleman’s house on the day their daughter is to marry. Hilarious family drama is set in motion with the mother's desire for "perfection", the unannounced arrival of the ex-boyfriend, and the father's attempts to keep him from being seen. Doors slam, secrets erupt, chaos ensues."

Seeking to cast 4 women and 3 men.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Sides will be provided.

    Roles available:
“Doc” Coleman: (Male, 50s to 60s) – The father. General practitioner, charming, eccentric conservative. Hides his anger issues with a smile.

Delia Coleman: (Female 50s to 60s) – The mother. A chronic worrier, a “Momzilla” in terms of planning for her daughter’s wedding. Keeps her neurosis just below the surface with the aid of an occasional pill.

P.B.: (Female, mid-teens) – Doc and Delia’s youngest daughter. The story’s narrator. She is alternately appalled and excited by the craziness of the family, which we see through her eyes.  Desperate to be considered as an adult, is not yet old enough to drive

Courtney: (Female, late 20s – early 30s) – The bride. Doc and Delia’s eldest daughter. Freelance writer/artist.  Ironically, Courtney is the author of a book that bashes nuptials, with a chapter in her book entitled, "Marriage Is for Morons." Torn between a life of artistic freedom and the security of marriage.

Melanie: (Female, early to mid-20s) – Doc and Delia’s middle daughter. A nurse and a bit schizophrenic, has always had a thing for birthday-suited Ryan . An attractive, flirtatious party girl that projects a wilder side than her older sister.Ryan: (Male, late 20s – early 30s) – The ex-boyfriend of Courtney. A bohemian free spirit. Hoping to write this generation’s “One the Road”. Survives on his good looks. Must be comfortable being shirtless on stage.

Harper: (Male, early to mid-30s) – The groom. Logical and wealthy, an "Al Gore-like" straight laced type. Can’t help being the “good guy” even when he knows it puts his relationship at risk.  The polar opposite of Ryan.
